Sandton Private Suite

A private tattoo room in Sandton needed a cleaner working rhythm for pen machines and cartridge work, with stock grouped for consistent handling. We supplied the consumables and studio items that support steady output, clearer station control and practical storage for a compact room.

The room and the brief from Sandton

The client was running a private suite in Sandton, Johannesburg and wanted the room set up for appointment work rather than walk-in volume. The main brief was consistency: the same cartridge groupings, dependable ink supply, and a layout that kept the working area neat between sessions.

The room was compact and already furnished, so the challenge was not a full fit-out but getting the consumables and storage logic right. There was limited shelf space, a single main prep area, and a need to keep sterile single-use items separated from open stock. The client also wanted the range trimmed so the shelf did not fill up with slow-moving items.

  • Private room use, not a large studio floor
  • Pen machines with cartridge-based workflow
  • Space for inks, grips, needles and sterile disposables
  • Clear stock grouping for faster setup between clients

What was supplied for the station

We supplied a working range built around tattoo inks, cartridge needles, grouped needle formats, machine accessories and day-to-day studio consumables. The focus was on keeping the stock practical for a private suite, with enough variety for line work, shading and colour packing without overloading the room.

The order included grouped cartridges by needle count and taper style, standard sterile single-use items, barrier materials, cleaning and wipe-down consumables, and storage pieces for keeping products organised by use. We also supplied machine support items that help a pen machine setup stay consistent from one session to the next.

  • Tattoo inks for line, shade and colour work
  • Cartridge groupings by intended use
  • Sterile single-use supplies for each session
  • Studio hygiene consumables and storage items
  • Machine support accessories for pen-style equipment

How the cartridge mix was planned

The cartridge side of the order was built around regular appointment work, so the mix had to cover the most used formats first. That meant keeping the range tight enough to manage easily, while still supporting different needle counts for lining, packing and softer shading. The client did not want to dig through too many options when setting up a station.

We grouped the cartridges into practical buckets and matched them to the way the suite worked day to day. The station could then be set up with the same core cartidges for repeat work, which helped reduce wasteful handling and kept the private room moving more smoothly. The inks were paired to that same logic so the most used colours stayed within easy reach.

  • Fine line cartridges for detail work
  • Magnum-style groupings for shade and fill
  • Core colour range kept near the machine tray
  • Separate storage for unopened stock and active stock

Storage, hygiene and room control

Because the room was private and compact, storage planning mattered just as much as the consumables themselves. We mapped the stock into clean groupings so sealed items, in-use items and cleaning materials each had a defined place. That helped the client keep the prep area readable and cut down on clutter at the end of a session.

We also supplied the items needed for general studio hygiene and surface control, along with packaging and storage items suitable for a room handling repeated appointments. All usage and handling was aligned to local health regulations and the studio’s own operating requirements. The brief did not call for anything complicated, just dependable organisation that could hold up on busy days.

  • Barrier and wipe-down consumables
  • Organised shelf space for sealed stock
  • Separate holding for opened but active items
  • Room-friendly storage for small consumables

Timeline and delivery to Johannesburg

The work moved across three weeks. Week one covered stock review and range grouping, week two covered the main supply order and the final checks on the mix, and week three covered delivery coordination into Sandton. The aim was to hand over a set of items that matched the room without creating extra sorting work for the client.

Delivery was arranged for Johannesburg as part of the wider South African dispatch network, with support for stock movement from Observatory, Cape Town. The order arrived in a way that suited the room’s schedule, and the studio could unpack the core consumables into their station layout straight away.

  • Week 1: range review and station planning
  • Week 2: ordering and stock grouping
  • Week 3: delivery into Sandton and room setup support

What changed in the private suite

After the stock was grouped and placed into the room, the main change was how quickly the station could be prepared for each booking. The client had a clearer split between cartridge types, inks and single-use supplies, and that made the private suite easier to run without overstocking the shelves.

The room now has a more reliable working rhythm for pen-machine sessions, with fewer interruptions caused by searching for the right consumable. The client also had a clearer base for reordering, which made the consumable side of the business easier to manage from one month to the next.

  • Cleaner station setup between appointments
  • Better separation of core stock and backup stock
  • More controlled ordering for repeat consumables
  • Less shelf clutter in a small room
